@Flamesdemon19: Check your intial settings for the sandbox (open game as you call it) You have to chose a period and that determines shrines, elite goods, mines, etc., should also be a monuments setting I believe.
For those looking for more than the basic number of forts, you need to put up admin city, palace, and improve your elite housing to max possible for the period and build more of it. Check the help on forts.

Please help me.I have the full version of the game and I play on an open game. But I don't have budhist or daoist shrines and temples to build. And also,no heroes of those religions are available.Instead I get only the three heroes/gods from the tutorial. And not only that but also,no monuments appear available for me.Yet I have all other buldings. All the decorative shit, both house types, all safety buildings. But how do I get shrines? Please tell me.Or is it something wrong with my game?

@brainwasher9876 And ironically, I find myself coming back to this game despite new games being released like Grand Ages: Rome, Anno 1404 and so on. The atmosphere of this game just surpasses its successors. Don't get me wrong, I love Anno 1404 and Grand Ages: Rome has its charm too, but when it comes to city building, the city building game series just oddly superior and I can't tell why.
Hey roguehwz, can you tell us something about the multiplayer? I can't find any videos for it. Zeus with multiplayer would be awesome as I like greeks^^

@Phoenix4646 I don't play multi-player portion at all. It's the same as normal gameplay where things run real time. Except you can use online chat and the various cities on the world map is controlled by different players(spies might be needed to find out, depending on the map).
The annoying thing is, since it's like normal gameplay, a person changing game options affects everyone. The most annoying being game speed. So a rule for settings must be set for friends playing this...

my biggest objection to this game is that aside from the setting it's basically identical to pharaoh and caesar...why not try something new?

A new theme is good, maybe modern cities aka Simcity... Something new? As in technology wise? Well they tried with Caesar 4 with "3D" graphics... As well as some pseudo attempt via Children of the Nile.
Else the game will just not the city builder that we love to play... Usually the theme is backed by historical references.
If you mean a mix genre like Settlers, Total war series, Tropico , Anno1404 etc. Well, they are there. Been there and done that.
