The Observer makes an appearance in Inner Child at the very end of the episode, as the young boy is driven away to his new foster home. The boy senses The Observer's presence and they stare at each other briefly. Do they know each other? Or can they sense each other because they are similar?

  • one and the same person?

  • the boy is the Observer's son, as stated in Walter's manuscript the Observer's are a "race of beings" which figured out a way to travel through the multi-verses, so if they are a race...they produce offspring

  • This could also explain why the Observer as an Adult still eats raw meat, and prefers to spice his food a little bit on the extreme side.

  • My theory is that the when the kid observer and adult observer look at each other they realize that they are the same person. The observers don't experience time linearly, so he managed to cross his own path as a child. Since Peter found the Observer as a child, the adult version of himself has a soft spot for him, and ends up breaking the rules to save Peter from the lake as a child, and also can't bring himself to delete Peter from time in season 4.

  • I keep hoping they are going to revisit this.. what the heck happened to that kid? he's obviously supposed to be an observer

  • My theories on them

1.The boy is an observer as well

2.The boy is the observer who travelled back

3.The observer is the boys dad

  • Ugg. The episode asked too many questions. They should go back to it at least once, and give us some stable ground to go off of. I got major goosebumps at the end of this

  • Also, maybe they both never aged

  • The Observer might be the boy's father. They both look alike. And The Observer probably abandoned him underground or something. A
