My favorite (and quite possibly the greatest) NES song of all time. The man behind the music is Tim Follin, an underappreciated composer of killer tunes for a bunch of retro games. If this sounds a bit prog rockish to you, that's because it is - Tim listened to a lot of progressive rock growing up and was thus heavily influenced by it (lucky for us). This and a lot of his other tunes are basically prog rock songs but composed for video games. He's one of the only oldschool game music composers who made music like this.

  • Sounds just like if the Gentle Giants reunited with Yes and Genesis and they composed video game musics.

  • absolutely wonderful...

  • @RyuHayabusa06 Dude, chill. To each his own.

  • @RyuHayabusa06 Although I do have to admit, Tim Follin did a pretty impressive job on some of the Ghouls N Ghosts tracks.

  • @VinLAURiA I was looking at Hardcore Gaming 101's list of the greatest game music tracks of all time and started clicking on a bunch of them and this was on there. I've noticed that the arpeggio sound in this track is used on tons and tons of C64 games as well as numerous NES games ported by European companies. I don't particularly care for the sound. And I guess this is where the flaming and vicious attacks begin. Don't bother, just my opinion.

  • @RyuHayabusa06 Dude, the arps are one of the best things about chiptune music. That sound is awesome.

  • @actracts Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

  • @RyuHayabusa06

Why the hell do you bother with chipmusic if you can't stand arpeggios?

  • The only nes game which features progressive rock in 8 bit.

  • i love how it starts off all cute and generic, then when you least expect it.. WHAM
