No one is making any comparisons, unless you are. You are obviously too inflamed to be able to discuss anything rationally, and without using insults and vulgar language. And we know how the Komitas quartet are world-renowned. However, we may say that this particular rendition is not one of my favorites, for lack of a better term. I'm not aware of it being a crime to say that. It seems you can't tolerate any opinions other than your own.
Being Armenian does not mean to sing Armenian music. This is the Armenian music. And dont dare compare Komitas with SOAD...R u high today?? To compare SOAD with Komitas quartet is the same as to compare penis with a finger!! Wake up!
Actually, you're the one who's wrong. First , it's no crime to have different musical tastes. Secondly SOAD do play Armenian folk songs in their concerts - which you can also see on YouTube. Third, SOAD members are all Armenian and even their rock music has that influence. I also like traditional folk music from Komitas or Sayat Nova, but prefer it with traditional instruments - or even SOAD! Somehow I don't think a string quartet really suits these folk songs. Just my won opinon of course....
System of Dawns does not perform any kind of armenian music. U are not only from a wrong generation but u are in a wrong place at a wrong time with very wrong comments. If i were u i would just shut up to look smarter.
This song is "Kagavik" or "Kagavi Yerk" translated Partrige or Partrige's song. The song is Gomida's original composition. There are lyrics to this song, written by the famous Armenian Poet/Writer Hovhaness Toumanian. Beautiful! The Simonian-Quartet has masered this piece at such a fast tempo. Thanks again!
Is there any Komitas rendition performed by SOAD???

Personally, I prefer the kind of Armenian music performed by System of a Down. Maybe I'm just from the wrong generation for this kind of thing...
