Italian marble used in this demo is "Botticino".

  • I have mixed wrong proportion of acid n water to wipe my floor tiles (not marble, not granite) many years ago. Some surface has became rough and loss its shine. My biege color floor tiles are easily stain. I could not afford to hack the whole house floor tiles and replace with new one which is too costly for me. Can someone advise me how to I bring back the normal state (b4 the acid...) Thanks in advance

  • @ok250682 thank you for watching my video.

My advice is to define the material of your floor first.

For floors, there might be engineering stones(manmade stones), plastic type, ceramics and so on..

If you would like to make your floor strong from stains, using "sealer" might be an options. I'll send URL for this kind of info by message since youtube cannot post url here.

  • There is a sistem for large surfaces, thanks thebestmarmi

Yes, for large area like floors or tables, countertops using air polisher or electric polisher will be better option. Hand pad is useful for small area. Also it doesn't suit to making flat surface compare to machine polishing.

Well, for tiles, there are transparent coating on its surface. but these days there are tiles just look like marble so its hard to tell...

Natural marbles are weak to acid like orange juice or lemon juice, so if you spill these kinds of liquid you can easily tell if its marble or not, but this method will ruin you precious floor..

These kinds of diamond pads are cheap so if possible you can try out to the place where it is not important like corners.

Hi, thanks for watching my video.

Before doing restoration on marbles, I recommend to confirm on below points.

    1. Types of marble floor: Is it natural marble or manmade marble? Natural marble works well for this kind of diamond hand pads but for manmade marble(artificial marble) , some are difficult to polish since there are so many types of artificial marble these days.

    2. Depth of scratches: If these scratches are deep, you need to start from large grit like #200 or #500.

  • Hi again, Sorry. One more doubt, How do I know whether the floor is marble or tiles?I live in rented home so I don't know exactly. Thanks.

  • Hi MrHihohum, Great to see this video. Needed help!! I made a lengthy scratch on my floor when I was trying to move to heavy clay plant pot..I am just wondering will this hand tool would be enough to clear those scratches? and will that be too expensive to buy? Thanks and help would be appreciated.
