This is straight-up Wayne Shorter! No departure from where he's been throughout his career!
Brian Blades, that all him as well! NO over-hyped styling to grab the spotlight!
John Patitucci, one of the best out there, period!
I love this, thanks for the post!!!!!!!!

@videolover61 Hey.. thanks for the Hot Tip..( LOL) I actually Do have a TON of WR records.. Looooove those cats, to be sure... well... if that was what Wayne was seeking, I guess he got it !!!! Certainly Wayne has
been involved in some pretty "out" records...ALL SEEING EYE....SUPER NOVA.. and at this stage of the
game ,he can pretty much do whatEVER the heck he wants... I just found Blade's style to be trying to perhaps call more attention to itself than what was warranted.

Ok...I heard a musician say that Wayne doesn't want the groove too much in this band, so if youre looking for that go get a Weather Report record. I'm not putting you down, cause I didn't like this band so much in the beginning, but now I do and I take it for what it is: New Y2K avant gard Wayne Shorter style...I appreciate it...

@Parvenu333 .. hmm.. interesting .. I caught this band at the Chicago Jazz fest
maybe 4-5 years ago.. and I had the opposite reaction.... Blade 's playing, I
found, was really distracting, TOtally over the top.. seemed like he spent very little time on the groove.. rather, he kept ExPLOding all OVER the place.Craaazy, Pops..

@jsuter0516 If you think that's something., you should see them live. That is only a taste of their... like... I don't know how to describe it. Bombastic awesomeness? I saw them recently, and I was watching Blade the whole time. It was the most entertaining thing, musically and visually, that I have ever seen.

I love this piece!

One of the most awesome pieces of music ever composed in the history of motherfucking mankind.
That was AWESOME!!! Personally I think Wayne Shorter is in the same lineage of the great composers of the 20th and 21st century.

I totally agree. He's definetly in the same as Stravinsky, Ravel, Beethoven, etc. He also has something so original that defies musical category. It can only be what I call Wayne's World.
