I had princesses back when they were almost free as used cars, they really were not that bad. They didnt rust any worse than anything else in the 70s, good handling, superb comfortable ride and not bad on fuel for the size. Power steering was a must though,I will admit. they are a seriously endangered car today thanks to being worthless for so many years and also people scrapping them just for the front brake callipers

Typically of top gear, this whole BL test was staged from start to finish - so that the under dog would win. (There's a surprise) Not that the princess was a bad car at all - just no where near as good as the other 2.

imagine I went out an bought a Battle of Britain Spitfire with licence payers' money and decided it was crap so wrecked it for a cheap laugh there'd be uproar but at least an old Princess is more useful than a noisy old aeroplane.
