On saturday the 5th of febuary i belive the cab of 75079 was been taken of the frames once again hopfully this means shes goin in the sheds soon, aparently the team who are incharge of this restoration are the same who lead 45379's restoration :D

its a shame it takes such along time to restore or even build a steamer now! we need more voulenteers !!
i couldn't imagine there would be a great deal left to do.

There's more work than you'd think. Since the loco has moved to the Mid-Hants Railway the restoration should (eventually)be sped-up.

The engine is the last of 80 British Railway Standard Class 4 Loco's and was built in January 1956. They were Classed as 'Mixed Traffic' engines which means they were expected to haul anything from Light Express Passenger Trains to Slow Freights. It was withdrawn from BR service in November 1966 and sent to Barry Scrapyard where it was eventually rescued from.
