  • @164ItsAllAboutMe164....to me, the ending merely shows Luis loved Valentin so much Luis decided to be sacrificed if he needed to be......

  • @164ItsAllAboutMe164 , Valentin gave Luis secret info related to his political activism, it's explained in the voice-over 'notes' by the police how it was obvious Luis agreed to be shot by Valentin's political allies if the police got a hold of Luis (since they would just torture him to extract the secret info)...Luis did not set up a rendezvous, the police followed him and it was Valentin's own political activists who shot Luis so that Luis would rather die with the info and not reveal it. :<

  • Raul Julia was gorgeous. Shame he had not stayed with us a little longer!

  • No es verdad que esta pelicula es mejor que el tren del infierno.

  • I just watched this movie and I loved it to pieces. But the ending confused to me. I don't understand why Luis (Hurt) sets up a rendezvous with the police and why they all start shooting at him. And the last scene where Valentin (Julia) gets shot up with morphine after being brutally beaten by his captors and dreams of his one true love. It seems awfully depressing because Valentin's just gonna wake up and get tortured some more. But mostly I don't understand why Luis got shot. Somebody explain?

  • very touching!

  • This movie was so well done. The acting was superb., so was the direction. And the atmosphere of being in prison. Well done.

  • yup, this was a real kiss, not like that horribly fake one in brokeback mountain....

Yeah the book was great. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Molina say "does it embarrass you to hear me say that" after Molina says "my only desire is to stay here with you"? They must have left that line out. I could be wrong.
