I never noticed how barbaric the weapon designs are in this game. The rock launcher looks like a tail pipe and all the other guns are similar and very plain. But it works this game looks and feels like the edge of nowhere that the pisspoor design looks great lol.

That it's 'gritty' is part of its appeal. If it tried to be fancy it'd suck. id has always been more about setting engine standards than making good weapons - they leave that stuff to Valve.
