While I agree with elton1111 that Elton can take almost any good song and make it his own, the real magic here is that this matches a great singer and song interpreter in Elton with a fabulous singer songwriter in Ryan Adams. Ryans writing in the form of "Oh My Sweet Carolina" is what brough t these 2 together originally.

It's good that on both version they hold back on the vocals i think. They could both easily just go for it, but i think the song would lose a bit of it's charm without the witheld vocals. Tis beautiful and vulnerable this way.

@ShifulChoudhury ofcourse the version of ryan is beautiful as it is the authentic one, but i think elton did a great job to make this song his own.. he really put his own touch to it.. Exactly because of the fact that i really love this song i am curious about all the covers (with keeping the most beautiful original version of Ryan in mind).
