This was in the Enterprise Record:
WOMEN
Chico State 67, Cal State Dominguez Hills 50
Another big night for Audriana Spencer. Another stout effort on the defensive end. Another Wildcat win.
Spencer had a game-high 16 points, becoming just the seventh player in school history to pass the 1,300-point mark, and played in her 100th Chico State victory as the Wildcats (24-5, 17-3) rolled in a preview of Tuesday's CCAA Championship Tournament opener against the Toros (13-14, 7-13).
On a night with plenty of positive energy in Chico State's favor — from forward Christine Vest's gorgeous pre-game rendition of the national anthem to a ceremony and hearty standing ovation for seniors Spencer and Amanda Monteith — the Wildcats used every bit of it to gain sizable advantages in nearly every facet. Most remarkable, though, was the discrepancy on the boards: Chico State outrebounded Cal State Dominguez Hills 43-26, including tracking down 18 of its own misses.
"We really need to keep them off the offensive glass next time, much better than we did tonight," Toros coach Van Girard said. "Not to take anything away from a good team at all, but we needed a better effort there. And we have to contain what's-she-called — 24."
If he was struggling to remember Spencer's name, all he had to do was listen to a rowdy crowd that chanted "Audi the unstoppable!" every time she touched the ball or re-entered the game. And why not? The senior has led her team through her entire tenure as a Wildcat — though there was a mock fist-pump only upon hearing her new nickname.
"I haven't done it all by myself," Spencer said. "It's all gone by so fast."
Jade Smith-Williams and Natasha Smith both added 12 points, three assists and three steals, while Chico High product Taylor Lydon came off the bench to contribute seven points and nine rebounds, both career-highs for the freshman.
