10,000 Fire Balloons (Khom Loi) are released from this site near Chiang Mai Thailand to start the Yee Ping Loy Krathong festival each year. It is an amazing sight to see the sky fill up with light. One of the wonders of the world we live in.

  • So amazing!!! So beautiful. I couldn't imagine taking that in myself. :)

  • @cherrygregg hey, planning the same thing here. except for the "few years" part. probably gonna take a while to save up for it. anyway, got any suggestions for places to visit, things to see, etc.?:p

  • Cherrygregg.... This just occurred on 20 November so that would be my guess for next year, give or take a few days. You can check with the Tourist Authority of Thailand to make sure. It occurs at a temple near the Maejo College campus about 15 minutes northeast of downtown Chiang Mai. Getting to the site is a bit confusing but vans and taxi's are available. It is really worth seeing. Have a great trip!
