No tuning isn't new! What's new is bolt on accessories. Back in the day it was building engines and porting by drills and hand bigger jets headers cams and 4speeds 4.11 gears. Now days it's all about big wheels ugly paint and big 5gallon mufflers. The 80's were great cause it was a come back to performance. We really have 5.0 to thank for that!! You might say Chevy but aftermarket came from ford mustangs. Technology is better now. But I'm a BB guy

I HAD AN 86 GLH AND LIKE A BONE HEAD I ACTUALLY GAVE IT AWAY!

damn i miss my 85 glh.
It was my college car, in early 90s tuning had just started...so not much was known.
I loved that it looked like a simple little car but could SMOOKE most muscle cars. That car won me sooo many bets and soo much braging rights.
.
I almost bought the 2005 SRT4 which was supposed to be similar.
.
Sad day when I traded it in...12 years old 110k miles...it had lots of problems past 80k miles

Those little Omni's and Horizon's have surprised more than a few people speed wise and still got better mpg than today's average car.

@uwysh2 Dodge's goal is to make reliable, well designed cars that are affordable to the general public. Which is one of the reasons they are not all the fancy and luxurious. Now Dodge is stepping it up and making vehicles with much higher quality materials which will unfortunately make it harder for the poor man to afford.

@875109725710 I love the Viper and ive always been a Dodge guy but most Dodges are pretty clunky and rattle alot on the inside... They have the design part down pat but quality control seems to slip on by, I wish I could afford a new SRT-8 Jeep though... Those things are solid but child support trumps nice car!
nice to see what a little elbow grease can do for a car that looks like a POS but outruns a 70K$ viper.
