"The US has basically already lost the war in Afghanistan, if they even knew what victory was defined at in the beginning," says Jeremy Scahill, just back from two weeks reporting unembedded in that country. The Taliban there are not unlike the Tea Party here, he notes, not popular in themselves but rather as a protest against the failures of the current regime.
Jeremy discusses his trip to Afghanistan with GRITtv's Laura Flanders.
Briefing Jeremy Scahill?
I'd like to DE-brief him if you know what I mean.

As much as we hate Blackwater, one day, they will seize one of the must lucrative contracts ever, replacing the Secret Service!

I am generally revolted by American men but Jeremy Scahill is just "WOW"...
the Ron Paul minority of the Tea Party are the exception to his point but Paul is already tarnished by the 9/11 truth psyops and the right wing trashed any hope of legit gain of his views which are closest to this. US relations with the UK, Saudi, Egypt, Israel and China is as bad because the US covers up crimes against humanity on their end as well... left and right...

The Department of Justice has a web site where you can report a crime. Thanks for the great videos.

Yes, Scahill is right, sadly so. Although, did we actually believe in that hope and change thingie? I mean we wanted to, but did we? Democrats, when in power, make the same decisions ( for different reasons?) as the GOP members and nothing ever changes.
Maybe it's time to vote for 3rd party option? It'd mess up the Dem game and have little to no effect on congress in short run, but it might force the dems to see how they are not helping. If nothing more, it would be viewed as a protest.

I love Scahill. Hes one of the only journos that I like. I just got done reading BING WEST's "FRONTLINE battle for Fallujah" and there were SOOO many condradictions to Scahills book its not even at all funny. Not to mention the contradictions from Dahr Jamail's book or Pratap Chatterjee. I almost couldn't read Bing's book after reading Scahills book thats how bad it was.
