Our cat Zeb is very sick. His breathing is constantly laboured. Our vet has run almost every test and still can't figure out whats wrong. If anyone can help us we have run out of money and ideas, If anyone has any ideas or helpful suggestions to help save Zeb. Has anyone seen anything like this? We love him very much and do not want to lose him.
Thanks!

  • Hi MrTurtlebean,

My cat is also showing that kind of breathing. His blood tests were normal and so is his xray. My vet said he might just be fat, so we are putting him on a weight loss program. i hope this will help my cat.

What is the latest news with your cat? Can you give me update?

Thank you and I hope your cat gets well soon.

  • @pusakal505 He passed 2 weeks ago and is not suffering anymore. They did an autopsy and found it to be a lung deformity ( similar to cystic fibrosis) he was born with. Before they thought it was either a tumour, a fungal infection. He fought really hard and was comfortable and had a great time (prednisone helped him alot) his last few months. He rolled in the sun, he loved sitting in his window telling us when a bird landed, and still swatted at our two dogs ocasionally, loved to eat. Best w

  • @pusakal505 Hope your cat is okay. Best wishes!

  • Breaks my heart to see this and I feel for you so much. I am sitting next to my seriously ill cat as well, waiting for the vet's tomorrow morning. What I can tell you is that I can hear his breathing, which is an indication it's not good. I'm sure you know this already. His rapid breathing is so disturbing. If there is any way you can find a homeopath that does hair follicle testing, I'd go this route first. I sure hope he get's better. I'm so sad about this. Poor baby.

  • @AngelinaUTube Thankyou. Your words were very comforting. Zeb passed away 2 weeks ago he did have 6 months more than the vets expected. He had some of the best times in those last few months. We miss him very much. I hope your cat has recovered ,our thoughts are with you.

  • hahahahaha fucking cat

  • My cat Bunny is having surgery in the morning to remove his nose as the cancer/carcenoma has eaten away front of his nose. He has terrible sneazing fits, blocked nose etc. We are scrambling to get the $1100 to pay for it. he is a 14 year old tabby and i love him too much to let money stand in the way.

My cat opens his mouth too when the flu symptoms get in the way.

    Sorry for your loss

  • my cat was like this too 4 days ago, and now it got worst , she breath with her mouth open, hard breathing. We brought her to the vet twice already and they gave her shots....but nothing changed, it didnt do any better. I hate to see my cat suffering. ;"(

  • what a cute cat. sorry for your loss <3

  • if your cat shows any signs of laboured breathing take it to a vet. my cat did and two days later it had to be put down. he was only nine months, how ever if the adoption agency i bought him from wold have given him a blood test before he was adopted out, i never wold have had to go through loosing him, though it woldn't have helped his survival. he had feline lukemia, which caused a build up of fluid which compressed his lungs.

  • Never, at NO GIVEN TIME, should one give paracetamil to cats!!!! Cats are not human, their liver DOES NOT process paracetamol in the same way -- you will give your cat a serious liver damage leading to eventual liver failure if you do so.

  • @wadlez01 Panadol to a cat, and you were a vet nurse???? Let me guess, were fired?

  • First you need to get the cats favorite food, whatever it is that it will still eat, and sprinkle a crushed up Panadol on it.

This will alleviate the pain while the cat is recovering. There are many causes for what the cat is going through, I know this as I was a vet nurse for 5 years, so administer this treatment immediately and then take it to the vet if it does not recover in a day or so.

  • @mrturtlebean ,

i am very sorry to hear of your loss. My cat Atlas died too June 30 to be exact. It was the most painful event in my life. But remembering all the happy moments we shared makes me feel better. I am thankful to God for lending me a beautiful cat and I know Atlas had a great time with me! I miss him so much.

Thank you very much Mr, Turtlebean.
