@ddoggycanada I take everything back. Yuhji Nakamura was T-Square's 1978 Bassist, he didn't Bass-Slap often, but he sounded great.

@RaldyV im sorry ive been making so many comments on your comments..lol makes it look like im fooling around doing nothing just to comment on youtube...but i'm sure these musicians are much more talented and skilled than any of us. lets not be overtly critical (especially the comments you put on other ppl's cover of t-square songs and whatnot) without really knowing what we are talking about...

@RaldyV slap guitar is done by many great artists, although not as common as youve mentioned...... take a look into justin king, miyavi to name a few... gotta keep the ears open for many many many more musicians out there...

But I'll give you this, Morioka can play a little bit like Jaco.
And also, Slap Guitar isn't common, I've only seen that done by one guitarist (Issei Noro).

Well, yeah, but J.S.B. is more suited for Slap Bass solos, rather than finger bass.
I didn't say he absolutely SUCKED, I just said he can't slap bass. Well, he can, just not as good as Sutoh and Tanaka (I mean Toyoyuki, not Shingo).

@RaldyV ........i dunno why u are making so many comments like this, are you going to say jaco pastorius sucked bcuz he can't do slap bass? its just a difference in playing style. why dont you accuse someone like john scofield for not doing slap guitar? btw thats not the reason why morioka left t-square

But thinking in positive way. I think he's doing good. At least he didn't playing wrong lines or make the songs turn to worse.
Sometimes I feel kinda boring on many great bass-slapper because they're making me feel like I watching "Bass Clinic" not "Concert"
It's true that he can't compared Sutoh or Tanaka but at least he's shown how the ordinary man can played the bass.
