The Big 4 played at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden July 3. 2011. The full show was broadcasted on SVT2 and SVT1, Swedish TV channels, and also online on SVT Play. This is the HD broadcast rip.
I added the LiveMetallica.com MP3 recordings over the sound, with 320 kbps sound. Hopefully it sounds better than the broadcast sound.

The Big 4 are:

Metallica
Slayer
Megadeth
Anthrax

  • F*CK, Cliff was a freakin genius :(

  • @TranceSFX We do like to complain, don't we? :P Things are good the way they are now. Of course, sometimes I miss the Kirk from Seattle '89, but hey - they are getting old too.

  • @rustialex Yeah and Kirk is mostly a studio guitarist. His performances live since 88 just haven't kept up.

Just imagine if kirk got kicked out and dave got hired, everyone would yell about how amazin kirk was.

  • @TranceSFX Nice to see, that somebody sees things this way. To keep it simple: Kirk was able to play all of Dave's solos, after joining Metallica. I didn't see Dave playing Kirk's solos. I'm not saying that he couldn't... but still, I'm curious :P

  • @rustialex So was I :) And objectively speaking, I still stand by that. I honestly don't think Mustaine is anymore of a god than Hammett is, I know people yell about this all the time but Mustaine solos are just garbled notes, nothing creative at all (with exception of a few solos).

Mustaine is a GOD of composition and creativity, something Kirk is not. As guitar players though, I don't see a huge gap.

  • @TranceSFX Of course, he is my favourite lead guitar player by the way (I use a wah-wah too :P). I was just being objective.

  • @rustialex Absolutely but Kirk is a genius too for the old work he did with them. FEW guitarists would have done it as well, and we all know this.

  • sick guitar sound from rob there! sounds cool :)

  • Feel much better now Thnx!

  • James is a fucking great player, the intro is so amazing
