Tristen Balboa: Rumble in the Dog House

The two cross town rivals added a new chapter to the already long standing history between the two programs. After swatting away a pass, the Osceola player speaking in her native tongue, taunts the St Cloud player by saying "In your face bitch."

The St Cloud player retaliates with nothing more than a love tap and walks away. True to form, the OHS player throws a sucker punch from behind. Three players leave the bench to join the fray for the Cowgirls. When the smoke cleared, the referees handed out....not a damn thing. They claim they saw nothing.

Three of them did not see the punch. Three of them failed to see the three OHS players leave the bench and get into the fight. Now that I am a former coach I can say, without fear of the FHSAA KGB taking disciplinary actions, the referees in the central Florida area suck! They are over paid and clueless.

The two schools decided to hand out their own punishments. Two players were suspended for St Cloud. The one receiving the sucker punch served a one game suspension. Another player severed a half game suspension for leaving the bench to retrieve her teammate. She never actually got on the court.

Osceola was to suspend three players, in particular the first one off the bench, who threw another punch at the St Cloud player. She was to be suspended for the season. Reports have said that she was playing that same week.

It is no surprise that Osceola has no honor. Their history in athletics has been tainted numerous times before. From having to forfeit a state championship in Cheerleading (they recruited a boy from out of state) to having to release their last Athletic Director after he sent an email to his coaches explaining how to recruit without being caught (seems he should have taken his own advice) this school is just plain dirty.
