@punkKid62 Shinji Ikari telling Kira to man up? That is the most epic thing ever. That would be like Domon Kashu telling someone to think before engaging in a fight.

@narutowned It kinda was, they have a series called Super Robot Wars. In one of them Super Robot Wars Alpha 3, the characters from Evangelion showed up and I kid you not, Shinji told Kira to man up and grow a pair. If you've seen Evangelion, you'd know this to be cosmic. One of the whiniest protagonists couldn't handle another protagonist and told him to shut up. Course all the other characters, including the Gundam characters were harsh but it was Shinji that out right yelled at him. Brilliant

@narutowned And he would talk way too much haha. He'd try to convince Heero that fighting is wrong, and while Heero would agree he would ask why he fights; Kira would reply 'to end the fighting' and the flaw in that is rather than become a politician that has to power to dictate war, he just wanders into a battlefield and confuses the hell out of people. Heero would point this out and Kira would just reply with 'no' 'shut up' 'it's not like that'

@narutowned Oh I know Kira has skill, he showed it when he piloted the Strike. It proved that he could match any other Gundam Pilot, he adapted to his situation and did amazing. Once he got the Freedom however, he forgot he had that skill and got lazy. He skills went downhill and he was able to be tossed around by a rag doll, the druggies ruined him, Athrun ruined him, Le Cruset ruined him, Shinn ruined him all because he forgot to adapt like he did with the Strike.

@punkKid62 Agreed. Hero has performed effectively using a Leo. He's also been able to pilot damaged, and malfunctioning mechs with ease. But Kira's Coordinator abilities do account for most of his success. I would say that you can't completely discount his skills considering his superb ability to work machines.

While his skills would allow him to defeat any normal pilot with ease, he would never match Heero's skills.

Also, I think Kira might lose due to excessive talking during battle. lol jk

@narutowned Heero on the other hand has piloted normal mobile suits and amazingly held his own. When it comes down to pure skill, Kira is left out to dry. He relies on machines doing all the work for him while Heero only uses the Zero System but before that he did amazing in the Wing Gundam and normal mobile suits.

@narutowned That there is the problem with Kira. Rather than gain skill, which he had with the Strike Gundam, he just builds a suit that compensates his lack of it. Have problem hitting targets? Make a multi auto aim function. Got whooped in melee? Build an add on that helps with melee. All of his suits are built to cover up his poor piloting skills, if he was to ever fight in a regular mobile suit he woul have been shot down long ago.

@punkKid62 Wasn't Strike Freedom made in order to create a more versatile Gundam so he owuldn't be caught by surprise in close combat? Well, either way, Heero is a much better pilot when you take his mastery of the Zero System into consideration. Heero can specialize and excel in any situation. He can use long range (Zero) or pure melee (Epion). Actually, Epion might be an even worse match for Kira.
