A ride on the Ffestiniog Railway (13/08/2010) Part 2: Tanybwlch to Blaenau Ffestiniog

The second in a two part feature, of a one way ride on the Ffestiniog Railway from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog, with Double Fairlie 0-4-0+0-4-0 Earl of Merioneth at the helm. Filmed on Friday 13th August 2010

In part two, we depart Tanybwlch and head towards Dduallt, taking in Codd-Y-Bleiddiau, Ddualt Tank Curve and Campbell's Platform (with the old Tudor Manor House below) along the way.

After negociating the only railway spiral in the British Isles, we get a glimpse of the old trackbed up by the new Moelwyn Tunnel.

Passing Llyn Ystradau and Tanygrisiau, Earl of Merioneth steams past Glanypwll before an on time arrival at Blaenau Ffestiniog

Nice video, Thanks. Are those red disks on top of the poles visible from about 6:00 to 7:00 on the left platform old-fashioned signals of some sort?

@GMCobh They appear to be either point indicators or colour light signals, in the design of the old disc ones. They were working on the installation of classic signalling at Tanygrisiau a few years ago, but the project ended up being abandoned (to my knowledge anyway)...
