Please, try to move your fingers faster than me and send me a response ( with the same Flight of the Bumble Bee). I'll increase the tempo to 21 keys per second if you beat me and will post a new video with much better sound.

NOTE: This video is not meant for a good listening experience. It is played purely for speed. The goal was to explore the human speed limit of playing and to challenge anyone who thinks he (or she) could ever play anything faster.

---------------------------------------

World's fastest accordion performance - more than 20 notes per second or 1200 beats per minute (bpm)-
Liam O'Conner holds the current Guinness record for fastest accordion player with 11.64 notes per second (Guinness Book of Records, 2008 edition, page 53).

In this video you can see a performance more than 71% faster (the math: if a speed of 11.64 keys per second is 100% then 20 keys per second is 171%; therefore 171%-100%=71% difference).
I applied at Guinness for "World's fastest piano key accordion player". In January 2008 they rejected my application. For those who are interested in why they sent me a "NO" answer here is a quote from the letter I got from them:

"Thank you for sending us the details of your recent record proposal for 'World's fastest piano key accordion player'. We are afraid to say that we are unable to accept this as a Guinness World Record.

We receive over 60,000 enquiries a year from which only a small
proportion are approved by our experienced researchers to establish new
categories. These are not 'made up' to suit an individual proposal, but
rather 'evolve' as a result of international competition in a field, which
naturally accommodates superlatives of the sort that we are interested
in. We think you will appreciate that we are bound to favour those that
reflect the greatest interest.

We realise that this will be disappointing to you. However, we have
considered your application carefully; in the context of the specific
subject area, and that of records as a whole and this is our decision."
