@Graebob Would you fancy running out into the middle of the track at the top of Eau Rouge? its completely blind and you wouldn't stand a chance, thats suicide. The marshals have rules to adhere to.

@Graebob The Tom Pryce accident taught us that crossing a racetrack, especially at a high-speed section, can be fatal for both the track marshal and driver. The marshal got hit by Pryce's car (the word "hit" being a euphemism) and Pryce got a fire extinguisher through the skull.

This is why Spa is one of the most dangerous tracks around.

About what I saw there live at the scene. You obviously can't expect them to be as fit as the drivers but still, I saw a lot of downright fat ones who obviously will be waaaaayyy slower

Thanks for posting this. I saw him go off from the bottom of Eau Rouge, but didn't see the impact, only the carnage afterwards. I was seriously worried for him at the time and very pleased that he's ok.
