this was hiphop album of the year,
but J.D was not the rap artist of the year, cause DMX was

Classic!!! Man this remind me of the era in the late 90's. This whole album was on point IMO.

@lro001 JD is better than P.diddy I can tell you that,he is also better at nurturing artist than P.Diddy, because JD doesn't sample and bite off of previous artist than him,JD is behind many successful artist from the ATL and beyond.
But yes this is a classic album ,period, probably thee top 5 albums of '98.

''Life in 1492'' was one of the last gasps for good rap, this album was the shit through and through. After about 1998, most rap was just shit.

@ThugDrama YOU Right! From Raydios "Rock on" LP in 1978 or 79. I didn't notice this when it was released by J.D. This song probably would have been hotter with the bass line from "Hot Stuff" as well.

ir001 JD does not suck as an artist. HE is excellent. Give it a try. See if you can put ut 1 hit!

iro001 - Jermaine Dupri does not suck as an artist - you straight tri-rip-in'. Next you'll be saying you can flow better than Jermaine. I really don't believe DaBratt would've blown up like she did if JD hadn't been on those tracks with her. JD is tight - don't know whatchu talkin' 'bout.
are u serious, this was one of the best album in 1997-1998, granted JD sucked as an artist, but the beats, the insane cameos, & the introduction of THE MAD RAPPER ( actually rapping ), man that album was the a favorite in my ride
