  • Exactly, he is GAMEjew. No offense but there are tons of people who write songs and have more talent than Jonathan. The whole "video games" gimmick is what set him apart. Not to mention some of my favorite songs by him were from the wii launch.

i don't know, Gamejew has potential to be something while the rest is just another song writer on the internet.

  • How much of my non-video game music have you listened to?

  • His non-game songs are cool. I have no problem with non-game songs from Game Jew just as long as he keeps doing Mushroom Singdoms and other songs based on games. He should never stop doing those. 2-5 a month would be sufficient.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • I also miss the character of the Gamejew, the Screwattack show was hit or miss as well as some of your other GJ projects, I liked blowing the dust and I thought you'd eventually polish it and have a great GJ show.

Just my two cents. I can understand that you may want to "outgrow" the GJ character or be known as something besides GJ but to me you are just getting lost in the shuffle.

  • Many of the ones youve posted on this channel mostly.

Im not saying only your VG music was good. Especially during the Mushroom Singdom when its hard and couldn't come up with a song every week from random titles and limited time. But every once in a while you had a few that really stood out as great. Which is rarer without the VG-gimmick.

I can understand as a musician you want to do other things and that VG arent everything but the internet is a big place and as Gamejew you had more exposure.

  • My point being, all that sets him apart. The fact that he applied his creativity by writing songs about video games is incidental and it "typecast" him among YouTubers.

  • He's a spectacular songwriter! In my opinion, very few professional musicians write better than Jonathon does, mainly in terms of melodies- but in general, his chord progressions and the extremely wide variety of beats, genre, time, etc.

You can say he's not a great vocalist, or he isn't mainstream enough, or he's not a great lead guitar player- all valid. But his voice really grew on me, his personality shows through his music, his rhythm guitar is solid, and his songwriting? Spectacular.

  • Hmm, I'm not sure. I don't think it's so much the gimmick of using video games- His music is very catchy and vibrant, But I do agree - his music around the time of the wii music is fantastic. Loved shigero Miyamoto and Wii crazy. This is another classic right here.Absolutely Love it.

  • is this the allussion of GameJew's triumphant return? Hopefully so. But if not, I still enjoy his songs but as the above poster detailed, he stood out from the rest by being something different.

  • great song, a game song :)
