  • I was at that concert. I was only 16. It was awesome! I must have sitting in the 10th row. I could see the sweat on his face. The people in my row were passing a bong back and forth. I didn't want any part of that and was scared everyone was going to get arrested including me! I remember the part he said "here I come, I'm gonna do it to you" and I was thinking,"can he say that?" good old 1969!

  • thats so awesome man! are you serious? if youre for real than i am quite jealous

  • hmm are you sure "tax free" and "sunshine" are on there? i have all those except those 2

  • @msmako "here I come, I'm gonna do it to you" why woudnt he be able to say that?

  • i was there at that show and recall that CHICAGO TRANSIT ATHOURITY was the OPENING ACT. For you youngsters that was the band that went on to be know as simply "CHICAGO" I had just graduated John Burroughs junior high school and got tickets for the 24th row to see the show.Price $7dollars and 50 cents which was top seats price for the show. I was JImi Hendrix 5 times in concert over the years. By the way I still have the TICKET STUB FORM THE SHOW.

  • this is one of the best hendrix shows available...you can get it on cd from the "stages" series...towards the end of the show people start rushing the stage and jimi says "sit down motherfuckers...just sit down" - with his guitar! its the craziest thing ive ever heard....he doesn't use a talk box, it's just with his hands and a wah pedal...

  • I was there too....got to stand right in front of the stage a few feet from Jimi. He was wearing his purple headband as I recall, Noel was sporting a tophat, and Mitch was playing his double-kick set. I'd been a Hendrix fan at that point for a couple of years so it was unreal to finally see him. I was in the 8th grade!

  • yeah Tax free and Sunshine of your love should be on the 1969 gig so should Hey joe

  • @ianaj89

What happened to the rest of the show? I'm thinking they were taken down by Youtube?

  • Wow...thats insane, I'm so jealous. I've loved Jimi since I was around 15 and I'm 34 now. I've paid my respects to him (in renton WA) and that was an experience I'll never forget. I would give anything to have seen him live!!!..

  • all these songs from this L.A. show are FREAKING ME THE F*CK OUT MAN! Never heard these never wow wow wow. Somebody has to release this stuff.

  • that's so cool man. I would've done so much to see him live! just wish I was born earlier! I constantly rag on my parents for not seeing him since they were in their teens in 67-70! haha
