The only way to earn yourself a Perfect Bonus in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is to always collect all the rings in every 3D Special Stage. This not only includes free-floating rings in the 3D Special Stage, but also rings that are generated when a rectangular perimeter of blue spheres is cleared. You’re awarded 50,000 points at the end of the 3D Special Stage for collecting all the rings, regardless of if you’ve earned the Chaos Emerald at the end of the 3D Special Stage.

You probably should show the rest of the world OTHER locations to Emeralds because let's face it. How many people can get an Emerald the FIRST TIME in any of those bonus stages? I can do it, but I have also been playing this game on and off again growing up since I was 6 or so when it came out. Those stages are ingrained in my mind. You should show Marble Garden, Casino Night, Ice Cap, and Launch Base emerald locations too.

Blue spheres = Win an Emerald.

Over 50 Rings = Continue

All Rings = Perfect = 50,000 points = Continue

100 Rings = 1 Life/Continue

Red Sphere = End & No Bonus

There is a 5th one in the first Stage Act 2. It's at the end of the level at the far right of the screen. It will be in the last area where you can tread underwater....on the right wall, you must search it, and you will find it embedded secretly in another room but be careful....you only have a few second to reach it before you drown! :)
