Shooting in downtown Weirton, West Virginia - Violence in Weirton

Allison Latos and Chandi Lowry report on a shooting that took place right on Main Street in downtown Weirton, West Virginia. Shawn Spencer was shot. Mike Eckles was beaten badly. Chad Bever was the gunman. Jane McCoy decided to put her face on T.V. to have her 15 seconds of fame.

Chad Bever was charged with malicious wounding, but all charges were dropped. The residents and business owners of Weirton voice their concern over the Weirton Police Departments lack of gathering enough evidence to convict Bever.

To call him a snitch, Steve its obvious you know nothing about our justice system. The D.A. charged him with ATTEMPTED MURDER. He was found not guilty of that charge by a jury of his peers. That means it went to trial no plea bargin was made. For once the justice system prevailed in this country. And I bet the guy who was shot and his friends will think twice before jumping someone. To jump someone is far more coward than to protect your life with a gun. Let the hatin' begin.

Wow this is the perfect example of the media can construe the facts of a case to make it sound however they want. The facts of the case are a matter of public record. You wanna know what happen go and ask for the reports. But instead you'd rather bash Chad and call him names. So if He hadn't have pulled his gun while he was lying on the street getting beat down by 6 guys would the headlines have been "two men beat to death in downtown Weirton"?
