@gwuengr2 ... and the rest of the universe looks down at us in utter amazment as we destroy each other, steal from one another and watch while many die from war, disease and starvation...
-
@gwuengr2 EXACTLY!! It's....funny how people on YouTube know whats going on on this planet and how ridiculous it is, yet no one, idk, say THE PRESIDENTS OR IMPORTANT PEOPLE that can actually make a difference, does something. Greed and violence has destroyed this planet, and its very sad because we will never change...

One of the best sci-fi movies for 60 minutes and then one of the worst disappointments 60 minutes onward...arg! This is the SETI Directors favourite sci-fi movie up to the point where Jodi is bouncing around the beach with her father because some rich guy was able to hide a major complex from the 1,000s of military and domestic satellites.... why, why why

I just watched this movie (not the first time).Tomorrow i am goin to wake up and how am i goin to take the yells of my boss???Our problems r so small, compared what really is important or must be discovered. We most of th etime aim at the wroing direction when we think for ourselves...

we are the reason the universe exists.

@sarmido einsteingravity(dot)com
the only speed of light is the inverse speed that we go by it.
-
of course coz the electromagnetic waves moves at speed of light.
the space is so gigantic that distances between stars are calculated in light-year (the distance that the light cover during 1 year)= 38,000,000,000,000 kilometers,
in the movie they receive a video signal initially emitted from Germans then the aliens send it back to earth where each journey of the signal took 26 Years !
-
derp I feel stupid.
-
Use "old", that'll work.
-
brb, gotta look up anachronistic.

IMO one of the most important and greatest movies ever made.
We are a tiny rock floating around an infinite (for all practical purposes) universe, and no one will leave this planet physically, ever.
And yet we kill each other, poison our planet, etc, etc..it's insane!

well done! the most mind-boggling opening scene of any movie, it illustrates the insignificance of planet earth as it relates to the universe and how every human is no more than a grain of sand on a vast beach. very humbling!
