Gerolf Meyer and Frank Patitz of Retrovelo made their first trip from Germany to Interbike to promote their stylishly retro take on urban commuter/utility bikes. Along the way, they stopped by Marin and rode their rigs down Repack with Joe Breeze. Cool!
Bought a Retrovelo, Modern Paul Alfine, Grey with Black Brooks saddle and leather ergo grips. Amazing and fun machine to ride. I use it to commute around Stuttgart and it gets tons of looks and questions.

I agree. Actually after having done more research, these bikes are excellent value. They are incredibly well built and beautifully finished. Plus, they are original signature bikes because they are built by Frank Patitz who is the designer of the Fat Frank tire. Now all the companies are copying Frank by putting his tires on their bikes. But of course, there is nothing like owning the original.

people spend thousand of pounds on the latest television, 12 months phone contract of the best model, motorised vehicles, designer clothes.
why are people get surprised at paying a thousand pound for a retrovelo? it's one of those product that actually help us in our life, especially regarding social, fitness and health.

Very cool bikes. I noticed they're not cheap though. Too bad the $ is so weak right now. Hopefully it will come back because I'd really like to have one of these German marvels.
