Les voix humaines, Andreas Martin & Daniel Taylor - "Tears of the Muse - John Dowland"

"Come again, sweet love" : voice & luth

Come again:
Sweet Love doth now invite
Thy graces that refrain
To do thee due delight,
To see, to hear, to touch, to kiss, to die
With thee again in sweetest sympathy.

Come again,
That I may cease to mourn,
Through thy unkind disdaint:
For now left and forlorn,
I sit, I sigh, I weep, I faint, I die,
In deadly pain and endless misery.

Gentle Love,
Draw forth thy wounding dart,
Thou canst not pierce her heart,
For I that to approve,
By siths and tears more hot than are thy shafts,
Did tempt while she for triumph laughs.

-----------------------

Les voix humaines: Susie Napier and Margaret Little - violas da gamba.
Daniel Taylor: couter-tenor / alto.

Andreas Martin: luth.

  • @fourmi1060 I have always loved Taylor's pure, elegant sound ever since hearing him live a couple of years ago.

  • An unusually well focused, pure voice with beautiful tone.

  • @VampilaAtelier I agree. Magnificent! You might be right. It's my favourite interpretation of those I've heard so far. It's on my CD "The best of Daniel Taylor" released in Canada:-).

  • &&& Magnificent ...the brilliance voice is from best interpretation on that beautiful song of John Dowland

  • Moi j'aime mieux Sting...
