Very detailed, thank you so much! What is the surface you're working on? I saw someone else using a similar one. I tried a white flexible cutting sheet and it moved around too much. Is that what it is? How do you keep it from sliding around? Thanks again, I can't wait to try this! I've been dying to make quilted polymer clay!

Very nice!
The work surface is a glass cutting board (like Corningware). You can find them at kitchen supply stores or at thrift stores. The best way to keep it from sliding around is to put a couple of small blobs of Blu-tack (poster putty) under it. It won't harm your table. You can buy blu-tack at hardware stores (sometimes called "sticky tack).
