I like everything about this video INCLUDING the music. I find working with my drop spindle very soothing and zen-like. Look at her face - very peaceful. I am in awe of this woman and women like her who are spinning for life and not hobby.

i have to agree, shes definetly putting two half hitches on after she winds on. i cant say if there's a notch or not (you technically dont need one to half hitch) but the thumb movement is pritty distinct (i use halfhitches alot with my spindles adn prefer them to hooks)

I had often wondered what it would be like to have to spin wool for fear of getting cold, I think I have just seen it on this video. Thanks for sharing the blessing of the tibetan people.

There's a hook or a notch on top of that spindle, I don't care what *anybody* says!
But yeah, I have a spindle like this made by an American from videos, and it spins forever. I always carry a small drop spindle when I leave the house, but if you're somewhere you can sit for a while, support spindles are great.

What a fantastic video, thanks for sharing it ! I love the shape of that spindle, do you know if the bottom piece is attached to the spindle, or can it separate ? That's just what I need on mine, I can't believe how long it spins.. ( am totally aware that most of it comes from her skill and experience !)

Beautiful.
I learned more watching this woman spin than I had learned in a year!
Thank you, and her, for the gift.

This was beautifully done. I had to favorite this video because the woman reminds me of my grandmother. This is a treasure. Thank you.
