"Girls Making Media" created this short video about the first bill signed by President Barack Obama, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. The third session of "Girls Making Media" consisted of five girls aged 10-14 (Clarissa, Gabby, Danielle, Paloma and Amy) who researched and wrote the script, recorded and edited the audio and then created this video in 9 class hours. None of the girls had ever edited audio or created a video before participating in this project. The "Girls Making Media" program in Tucson, Arizona is funded by the WomanKraft Digital Arts Studio www.womankraft.org, the Every Voice in Action Foundation (R) www.everyvoicefoundation.org, and the Pima County Tucson Women's Commission www.pimatucsonwomen.org.
EVERY place I've worked women were paid the same as men. In fact, a lot of times women did way less work and got paid the same or even more. Just drive down a road that's having construction work done and see who's holding the traffic signs and who's doing the grunt work with the jackhammers and shovels! And what about women living 7 or 8 years longer than men, does this old bitty consider that?! It was old bags from the '70s that went on TV shows spreading this shit. RememberDr. Joyce Brothers?
