TNDC Scion Presentation "SCAMP"

(2005) Here's a wacky video I wrote for Scion's presentation at the Toyota National Dealer Convention. Scion wanted to get Toyota dealers more involved with the Scion owner community. A worthy cause, as the Scion community has been nothing but awesome to work with in the four years I've been working on the Scion ad account. We hired improve genius Greg Proops from "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and "The Drew Carey Show" and used the actual Scion head of marketing at time (I think he's with Lexus these days), Mark Templin. He was rad. This was directed by my buddy Jason Moore, who has directed a few other spots in my channel. Hope I don't get in trouble for posting this. Should be fine. It's been a few years.

Yeah. We were lucky to have him. He took my script and made it better, which is what great improv guys do. And Greg is one of the best. And professionally he was really easy to work with, as well. Thanks for the kind words.

Cool. We actually didn't know until the day before the shoot that it was going to be Greg. He was actually a "back up" to Ryan Stiles. In hindsight, I'm really glad it worked out how it did. No knock on Ryan at all, he's talented too, but Greg was much more suited for the part. Much better "geek." Actually Greg's not that nerdy at all off camera. Just great at playing that role.

Wow, really. Ryan Stiles is my hero too!!! I don't think he would have been so well suited to the role. I'm glad Greg showed up. Like you said, he's a much better 'geek'!!! Once again I'll say it, I am very jealous of you! Thanks, Nat :)
