  • Does anyone have the version with the African part?

  • Well pattycanada, if these guys are not vocalists then their singing is quite good. Nevertheless, to appreciate the real atmosphere of this piece, there is only one recording here on "you tube" worth listening to: world-famous King´s College, Cambridge- period!!

  • Although the tempo is a bit faster than most directors might prefer it, it works well with the acoustic of the space. The cutoffs and transitions, though, sound to me as if a half a beat or so has been dropped. Strangely enough, although the way this is done is faithful enough to the score, it still sounds like something is missing, be it the fault of the composer or director. This is otherwise a nice performance (though some members of the chorale seem to have rushed the tempo further yet).

  • Our choir is working on this for a contest piece. I think this is much to fast. We're taking it a bit slower, and at our speed, I think anyway, it's much more magical.

  • Our choirs did quite a few of his song as well (Medway) and we were suposed to meet him last year and never go to cause of 4 snow days in a row so our music teachers had him come in the morinig before the concert to review the songs with us it was a great experience and his little boy is adorable

  • i thought it was a lot of fun.

it was really cool working with Jim Papoulis, because my school's (Montcalm's) choir performed a few of his songs this year. We were really excited to know that he was going to be there.

  • our school was at brick by brick too it was interesting jim papoulis was cool to meet and deniese pellay was amazing to sing with again.

what'd you think of the concert?

  • this speed is OK, andante sostenuto (66).

to tell the truth I've seen a slower version on Youtube (it was grabbed in a church or cathedral) and I really loved it!

  • really?

we're doing this for Brick by Brick

(building a high school in Sudan)

& we're going either the same speed, or a little faster. :S

  • our school sang this song with a couple differnt UWO choirs it was sung slightly different tho but this is still pretty
