Composer Carl Davis talks about how he came to create the score for NAPOLEON, Abel Gance's legendary epic. The interview took place in the beautiful Paramount Theatre, Oakland.
In March 2012, the San Francisco Silent Film Festival will present the U.S. premiere of Academy Award winner Kevin Brownlow's complete restoration of NAPOLEON at the Paramount, with maestro Carl Davis conducting the forty-six piece Oakland East Bay Symphony in the U.S. premiere of his orchestral score. The is the only presentation of this kind scheduled anywhere. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
