Here is a video I made of the new flugwerk FW190. This machine is owned by Christophe Jaquard. It flew to La Ferté-Alais in France for it's public debut at the annual airshow held on the 30th and 31st may 2009. It didn't fly during the event, but it did preform several engine runs.

  • Does this FW190 have the BFW801 radial in it?

  • No, this aircraft has no BMW engine as there are too few spare parts for such an engine at this point. It is equiped with an original Chinese licensed Russian engine, the ASh-82FN 14-cylinder twin-row radial engine which was originaly used in WWII fighters as the Lavochkin La5 & Lavochkin La7. So a good represenative of a wartime period engine, but not BMW.

  • The FW190, P-51D and the Spitfire are the most beautiful fighter planes ever!

  • Wonderful to see what labour of love is capable of!

Once an o so feared aircraft by many Allied pilots has been restored in its pride to honour those which left their lives above enemy and homeground in the fierce fight for air dominance!

    Well done!

  • @perrydasavage

Absolutely yes. But what about the Macchi MC202/205? I like his nose :-))

  • What music?

  • @perrydasavage Don't forget the Lavochkins :)

  • I am amazed time and time again, how well those things fire up. Compared to a Corsair or some other warbirds, that have to crank and crank and crank until at least a few cylinders start to light up...

  • Very nice video. Thanks for uploading!

  • Glorious weapons of the Reich indeed.

  • It was so beautiful when the sun came up :')
