After more than 2,000 years, the Epidaurus Theater is still open for business. It's famous for incredible acoustics, as demonstrated in this clip, where the sound of tearing paper can be heard from far away. This Epidaurus clip is a segment from "I Follow Apollo", the Intrepid Berkeley Explorer's free video presenting the highlights of Greece, including Athens, Olympia, Meteora, Sparta, the Byzantine Empire, Greek Folk Dancing, the islands of Mykanos, Santorini, Crete, & Rhodes, plus Ephesus in Turkey, and much more.

  • i have been there and it is realy amazing!

  • @dgdbg no one modern Greek believes that we are the same as the ancient Greeks.. on the contrary.... we are just proud for our history and we wish we could be like them

  • boring

  • Greece is a nice place and the people are nice,if not a bit too obsessed with the idea that modern Greece is 100% Ancient Greece and that the greeks of today are the same as the greeks of Homer.

  • I literally almost passed out when I walked in and saw this place. It was trancendentalist.

  • @lordbone Thank you

  • hey,i worked for 2 years at the reconstruction of Tholos!i'm glad you remember cause everyone remembers the theatre.

  • Well actually it is the BEST PRESERVED ANCIENT THEATER IN THE WORLD as no other civilization had theaters in its culture!!AS for your statement lordbone I am a greek but I am not so proud about it as the later greeks had done a few things right (Olympic Games of Athens 2004).So if I couldn't be greek I would certainly choose to be an Ancient Greek!!!!!!!!
