UPDATE: I'm sure some of you downloaded an app called ME3: Final Hours which explained some last minute details about the game and its creators. Some of you have been saying that what was said in it disproves the Indoctrination theory. Well this is the passage at which you think it "disproves" the theory.

"And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the GAMEPLAY MECHANIC proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices)"

SO WHAT I'M GETTING FROM THIS IS THAT THE GAMEPLAY OF SHEPARD BEING INDOCTRINATED WAS SCRAPPED. NOT THE IDEA OR PLOTPOINT OF IT.

NOW I SAY "DREAM" BECAUSE IT MAKES IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE WHO AREN'T FAMILIAR WITH THE ME UNIVERSE TO UNDERSTAND INDOCTRINATION. SO WHEN I SAY DREAM JUST REPLACE IT WITH INDOCTRINATION.

Indoctrination meaning here: http://i.imgur.com/74Nka.jpg

I mentioned this before in comments but not the video because I wasn't sure. By choosing the synthetic option you allow reapers to be apart of organic life. Therefore you are still indoctrinated unlike the destroy ending.

"Controlling the reapers is going head to head mentally against the reapers in a power battle you will undoubtedly lose. Synthesis is complete submission to their beliefs. They are both a form of indoctrination, just in two separate ways created to appeal to two different kinds of Shepards (aka, players). It's the subtle difference between an indoctrinated TIM and an indoctrinated Saren."

~TheOriginalTyDye

Next, people are wondering why the Reapers would offer the destroy ending in the indoc process if it means Shep could "escape". Well first and foremost if it wasn't there Shepard would have realized immediately something was up and broken through the indoctrination process then and there. Didn't anyone think it strange that the catalyst sweet talked the other two options? Do you know how many people I know that choose control or synthesis because they thought those were the correct choices? That says a lot.

Also, based on this theory the fate of the Normandy crew/Mass Relays were all conjured up by the indoctrination and the fact that the game needed some form of ending. After all, Shepard wouldn't be breathing if the Mass Relay in the Sol system was destroyed. Plus, the old man and child sequence could also be conjured up or when the stargazer says "one...more...story" could signify DLC. AND YES PEOPLE THAT MEANS IF YOU CHOOSE DESTROY THAN SHEPARD DIDN'T DEFEAT THE REAPERS AND STILL HAS TO DO THAT. THAT'S WHY I BROUGHT UP DLC OR OTHER FORMS OF MEDIA.

    Since now all the DLC's are out, the Extended DLC favors the Indoctrination Theory.

    Yes Anderson did say that, but if you look around while getting to Anderson you will see that the only path that is there, is the path Shepard walked on.

    This theory was debunked and dis-proven upon the release of Extended Cut..Not sure why this is still up.

    I love the controversy and theories with ME. But honestly because of the extended cut DLC I take the endings are face value. Even though Shep breathes during the perfect destroy endings, I prefer a perfect synthesis ending. xD Have you seen her speech in that white room? ;_;

    See I think the synthesize ending is great. If you take it at face value that is. The speech she gives after she's been synthesized and is in that like... huge white room at the end is so heart warming it actually made me tear up. It shows her using the reapers to help and rebuild the galaxy, mass relays, etc. She gave up a lot to pretty much be God keeping peace in the galaxy, no more harvests etc. Which is why I disagree that the synthesis is true indoc. All AIs and organics are chill now.

    ... Chooses control he will continue to do as the reapers did. As for the destroy option the catalyst was an AI so when synthetics are destroyed it would disappear. It is possible that the destruction of Shepard's cybernetics caused a kinetic barrier as he fell, alternatively parts of the citadel falling with Shepard shielded him as he fell and they burnt up, possibly turning molten and then back to rock. If paragon controlling the reapers will be good, while destroying all synthetic life is ...

    Anderson went up after Shepard and came out at a different place so it's entirely possible the route Anderson took was shorter. The kid was how Shepard interpreted the catalyst as he has constantly been thinking of him so when faced with the chance to end the reapers he thinks of the reasons they have to be stopped. The citadel is a space station that provides life support, this is the underside of the presidium so will have breathable air. Your alignment can effect the endings, if a renegade..
