Pt. 2 of This Strange Engine played along with Fender/Tokai Stratocaster (EMG SA), through a Koch Powertone II, Boss CE-3, Boss/Keeley DS-1, TC Electronic G-Major and controlled by a Roland FC-200.
On this little recording I think I finally captured what sounds like the 'Steve Rothery lead sound'. Which is largely influenced by the EMG pickups, and also by the modded DS-1 through Channel 3 of the Koch. Sorry for the sloppy playing in some parts!

  • hey man sound perfect what pedals are you using

    thanks

    great

  • @camkerse: Most of the tone is pure the guitar and the amp, with some delay, verb, chorus and a booster for the solo's! Specification etc can be found in the description above! Here's a tip: If you want to come close to Rothery's (old) sound, buy some EMG SA's and put them in a Strat with maple neck. I have another strat with Fender 57/62's in the neck- and middleposition, but they won't do the job!
