Shared Propulsion Car is a project by Montreal artist Michel de Broin, exhibited at Mercer Union gallery in Toronto. An '86 Buick Regal stripped of its engine, suspension, transmission and electrical system and outfitted with 4 independent pedal and gear mechanisms. The vehicle retains the illusion of the mass-produced luxury automobile, but is reduced to a shell that now has a top speed of 15km per hour. This video, recorded by Benny Zenga, documents the car in motion, October 27, 2007.

The problem with switching up the gear system is one of mass. The vehicle has way too much mass...switching to a lower ratio for higher speed would cause the quadcycle to come to a complete and utter stop. I think the only way around it is to construct a buick look-a-like body out of kevlar or carbon-fiber.
Great Declaration on a Car-Mad society, though!!! I love it!

Why did the cop asked for a license for operating a MOTOR vehicle?
