As seen on Brainiac S01E03, corn flakes are magnetic due to iron content! I had to test this out for myself and not take their word (or video demonstration) for it so here's a video of my test using two neodymium magnets on the end of a flat screwdriver, some muesli (I didn't have any corn flakes to hand) and a plate of water. Supposedly 'normal' unfortified cereal (maize / wheat) contains 10ppm iron by mass (which is of course ferromagnetic), muesli (oats) has 50ppm iron and fortified cereals have up to 200ppm iron.
