You fill to the line, which is exactly 1 cup. I put in 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons olive oil, a pinch salt and then fill to the line with water. In the machine I put 1.5 cups white flour plus 1.5 cups semolina flour. This mixture will yield enough pasta to feed four people at dinner.

for anyone interested the measuring cup holds 400grams of water- the first water line is150 grams- line 2 says with two eggs holds 180 grams of water-the all eggs line holds 215 grams of water
