I think that more people should be exposed to more aspects of Neblett's singing than is possible through commercial recordings.

  • KE VOCE STRAORDINARIA...NON MI ERO MAI DEDICATA ALL ASCOLTO DI QUESTO SOPRANO.

  • @emilytransex I'm so glad!! Ci sono altri video della Neblett sul mio canale :)

  • Last person--I did not mean to remove your comment! I am sorry!! Oh, I would have LOVED to have seen that Thais (not for the obvious reason ... I'm not a guy LOL). I think Neblett at her best is fairly well underrated.

  • Beautifully sung, and maybe some phrasing that I've not heard before!

  • She was one of my teachers/coaches in my Undergrad... great person and performer

  • I saw Neblett and Pavarotti in Tosca at the Kennedy Center, cannot remember the date, but must have been mid to late '70's. She was the best Tosca I have ever seen or heard and he was also fantastic. She had a lot of personal problems that hindered her career. What a pity. When she was on, she was really great.

  • Fantastic!

  • Oh, I'm jealous you saw her live! Thank You so much for the comment.

There seems to be a conventional myth about CN that she burned out early. To me, some of her later stuff (like this and a '90 Norma) are equally wonderful.

  • There are several different live recordings of Neblett's Minnie. I would recommend all of them, as well as the video, in preference to the Mehta studio recording. There are a few excerpts on my channel.

I haven't started in on the other live Toscas yet ... time and money ;)

  • well yes, it shows, if that performance is any indication she was one hell of a tosca! the rest of the cast was amazing as well, what an amazing night it must have been, even the audience seems to have trouble controlling themselves! funny that you mention that fanciulla, because in my college there's this guy who sells bootleg copies of operas and he has a copy of that one which im always seconds away from buying, but then think:"nah, who the hell is carol neblet?" well, now i know
