Walking with Cavemen -- The Only Pun I've Heard In A Documentary!

I've watched hundreds of documentaries. This is the only pun I've ever heard in a documentary! (But I hear puns a plenty on The News Quiz on BBC Radio 4.)

I wonder why scientists figure Neandethals couldn't imagine...

Masternachos, Neanderthals didn't paint any cave art. They also didn't have jewelry until the Cro-Magnons showed up. (I read one article that said a research group found a shell with holes and ochre on it, made by a Neanderthal, well before Cro-Magnons arrived.)

They also kept making the same types of stone tools, generation after generation. But Cro-Magnons kept innovating and making better tools. They also made fishing hooks and traded across much greater distances than Neanderthals.

@masternachos The documentary was made before some other discoveries regarding Neaderthals were made - for example, they made a type of glue that was only reproducible in a laboratory for modern humans. I dont think scientists can claim with absolute certainty that they "lacked imagination" but based on evidence at the time this was made it seemed plausible.
