  • No mezzo, but what a huge artist, and what a good french diction. Miss Moffo was one of the greatest opera singers in XX century. Her ' problem ' was her beauty. That caused envy in many critics and opera fans. She was far too beautiful and too feminine for thcurrent taste in phallic, harsh women in her era. Love those women too, but it is unfair to put so much focus in what Moffo did wrong when she was one of the most versatile opera singers in an opera stage, ever.

  • @MezzoMaleprano Neither, strictly speaking, was Victoria de los Angeles, but de los Angeles possessed a good-enough lower range and good sound to do justice to Charlotte (WERTHER), the title role in CARMEN, and Rosina in IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA - although Rosina was the only one of the three roles which she sang extensively in the opera house. This is an interesting and captivating performance - as is Renata Tebaldi singing mezzo excerpts on her late-in-career duet album with Corelli.

  • @sschimel THx for this Marvelous rendition by great Anna Mofo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • merveilleuse, pas vraiment elle ne chante pas juste et c 'est rempli de portando inutiles et de très mauvais gout dans la musique française.Ecoutez les autres!!!!!

  • She always had a dark color on the bottom, and this role has been done by a few sopranos. Here she is not shown at her best though, as there is a wobble and weakness in the middle voice that is quite apparent in this accompanied recitativo style.

  • It was an alright performance...she's not a mezzo though.
