Onomatopoeia Project from Umass Dartmouth's new motion graphics course, MotionDesign1, taught by Heather Shaw.
Animation by Jason Donohue.

This project challenges you to consider letterforms as symbolic representations of sound, and investigates how typography can be used as a vehicle for interpreting pitch, rhythm, tempo, volume, and other musical concepts.

This assignment was written and developed by Brian Lucid at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
