Canoeing the Nantahala River in a lake canoe without airbags or floatation of any kind. Yes, we did this by choice. We ran the entire river without incident until we hit Nantahala Falls. We were able to run the falls but got swamped. Got sucked into a horrible line through the falls. We then wrapped the canoe around a rock about 100 feet below the falls and sank. As soon as the crowds of passing paddlers, rafts and occasional bodies dispersed for the day we went to work on the canoe. A couple of the NOC locals took time to help us pull it off the rock. In all it took us a little over an hour to retrieve the canoe. Music - Suicidal Tendencies - You Cant Bring Me Down

  • should caught truck stop eddy

  • beautiful ride! I run my 16'9" disco down for kicks every now and then (with bags) .. it's HEAVY with floatation when semi-swamped. Hate to see a boat get wrapped but that is part of the game... it's hard to wait till the water is off to your stuff. I just got the playsport cam and am interested to see it wet. Cheers and SYOTR

  • Very well edited video. Sorry about your canoe, but it was great footage.
