Why do people look low on public services? Because they do not freely exchange with people for their income. The "greedy" "money-hungry" private sector has to enter in voluntary trade with other people, meaning both parties benefit from the transaction. The public service sector relies on no such method of exchange. Their exchange is, "I have the army and police, you will pay for this service I'm giving you (through way of taxes) and if you don't like it, TOUGH.
Public service is ignoble.

Great, a lifelong career of taking from the productive private sector and fueling the unproductive public sector. Good job Kiyomi Burchill.
